Hotel Senec is changing: design spaces as early as 26 March 2026
The transformation of the reception and restaurant areas will bring harmony and holiday feeling
Hotel SENEC is undergoing one of the most significant transformations in its history. The current renovation of the reception and restaurant areas defines a new standard of comfort, aesthetics and experience, which the hotel will open to guests as early as 26 March 2026. The architect behind the design is Katarína Kupčáková Luciaková, who created a space inspired by the water, landscape and holiday atmosphere of Senec.
When a hotel turns into a place of relaxation
The reconstruction of the entrance and restaurant areas of Hotel Senec is not just a design change. It is a conscious step towards making the hotel a place where guests naturally slow down, relax and feel like they are on holiday - whether they are coming for a weekend break, a family holiday or a corporate event.
The new premises will be open as early as 26 March 2026, and the visuals already give a sense of their main idea: tranquillity, harmony and a connection to the surroundings of the Sun Lakes. These values were at the beginning of the whole concept.
The architect talks about the vision, details and emotions that should accompany guests from the first step into the hotel in the following interview
With what vision did you approach the design of the new reception and restaurant areas of Hotel Senec?
The vision was to create a space where guests would feel relaxed. A place where they leave their everyday worries at the door and immediately feel a sense of calm - just like on holiday. We wanted the new interior to naturally promote relaxation and a sense of well-being.
How did you work with the character of the place in the design - Senec, the water and the holiday atmosphere of the hotel?
Very sensitively. The whole composition is tuned to the holiday atmosphere - the colourfulness of the sand and water, the subtle transitions of tones that evoke being by the lake. At the same time, we were also inspired by the nearby wine region and the region of Modra.
Elements of Modra ceramics in a modern design, natural and traditional materials such as ceramics appear here. A distinctive tiling in the form of fish scales, created by a local artist, was also created from it. It was also important for us that we worked exclusively with Slovak suppliers.
What was most important to you in designing these spaces in terms of the guest experience?
Making the space functional, comfortable and pleasing to the eye. At the same time, we wanted it to naturally complement the atmosphere of the entire hotel and not be disconnected from it. Guests should feel that everything fits together.
Which materials, colours or details do you think define the new spaces the most - and why?
Materials and details that reflect the environment itself. For example, reed lamps, subtle light work, natural textures. The space is beautifully complemented by the atmosphere of the lake - day and night. The interior communicates with it and responds to it.
Welcome to the land of relaxation and harmony
The concept of the new space has been developed gradually over a period of about five years and is the result of a team of people who have had time to think about the atmosphere, functionality and details of the space. Individual ideas, materials and moods were gradually put together into a coherent whole that also has families in mind - the children's play area is a natural part of the restaurant. The biggest reward will not be the opening itself, but the moment when the space comes to life and guests feel natural and at home in it.
What would you like to say to Hotel Senec?
I'm rooting for Hotel Senec and the whole team. You can see that the hotel is moving, modernising and thinking about its guests. My fingers are crossed that the new premises will fulfil their potential.
New spaces as an invitation to slow down
The reconstruction of Hotel Senec is proof that modernisation does not have to be about pomp, but about feeling. It's about a space that welcomes guests, calms them down and naturally puts them in the mood for relaxation.
